Pink is the new black!

Coastal Scents is one of the most popular online only shops in the blogger/youtube beauty community. Mostly known for their palettes of different sorts and some nick nacks, such as brushes and gel liners in particular. The think pink palette consists of 12 rose patel inspired eyeshadows in all the different shades of pinky-rose colours with the essential dark shimmery grey and black with purple-pinky glitters. It costs $21.95 us dollars.

The colours are surprisingly good and intense. The photos of the swatches are taken without a base. It gives the same amount of pigmentation I would expect from a mac eyeshadow, and this only goes to show that you can get as good of a product for 1/10 of the price. If you’re bold and bright, but still want to be on the more conservative side, pink is the way to go. Even though pink is probably the hardest colour – next to red – to pull off in eyeshadow land. Too much and you’ll end up looking like you got pink-eye, or like you’ve been crying your eyes out, or tried to scratch them out with a needle.

* Taken with a blitz.

Overall opinion:
The think pink palette is the perfect palette for a beginner who wants to expand their makeup collection and try out which colours and shades that works for their skin tones. It provides everything. Highlight colours, lid colours, crease colours and even an outer V colour to define your crease. For the amount of product and the price, you can’t been it. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

The freak show’s in town!

Some days ago i played with my makeup, and just went kinda crazy. I didn’t film it, but if you’re interested in it, I might redo it on camera. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Sometimes, one girl and too much makeup can get the funniest results. The purple eyebrows makes a good statement. I kinda love them, but don’t think I’ll ever get the guts to wear them outside of my house unless maybe for a photoshot. Then they would kick ass.

– Would you ever go outside with coloured eyebrows?

– If you would, what colour would you pick?

 Gold Digger!

So I watched some old youtube videos yesterday, and I came over VitageorTacky’s video on using a pigment to make your lipstick stand out and look super complicated, and I just fell in love. I thought I might try it out, and figured it might as well do a frame by frame, photo tutorial for you guys. It’s super simple, but so amazing. This look can be used with any coloured lipstick or pigment eyeshadow.

The first thing you need to do is to apply the lipstick of your choice on all over your lips. You might also want to use a lipliner if you plan to wear it for more than one hour. I used Girl About Town by Mac.

After this, you’ll need a pigment in the colour of your choice and a fluffy blending brush. I used Trophy Wife by Glamour Doll Eye. How you apply it is by dipping the brush in the pigment and softly applying it to your lipstick in circular motions. You’ll only need to lightly dust it onto the center of your lips.

I hope you guys enjoyed this simple, yet fun photo tutorial. All credit goes to VintageorTacky for showing this to the youtube society.

– What colours would you use for this tutorial?

– Would you ever dare to wear this in public?

Oh sparkly blue

So if you’re one who follows the people on youtube regulary, you’ve probably seen that many has a colour on the tips of their brushes. This is a nice trick so you’ll reconize your brushes around other makeup artists or friends. You can use whatever colour to do this, it’s all up to your imagination. I did add a light baby blue cout at first, but decided to go with the sparkles as well later on. Hope you guys like it.

The first thing I did was to apply a bit of tape on the end of the brushes. How far up or down on the handle you want it is completly up to you. The line you make with the tape is going to decide where the nailpolish should start or stop.

Then you just apply the nailpolish layer by layer. I take two layers of each colour, but if your just using one colour I don’t think you’ll need more then two of them. Be sure to make it as intence as posible, that’s the coolest way people. Then you just let the nailpolish dry and peel of the tape. You should be left with an awesome coloured tip on your brushes.

Sigma beauty

Oh my god! One of the first things I heard about when I started watching youtube videos was the Sigma brushes. They are comparable to the MAC brushes only 1/10 of the price. There’s a story I want to tell you guys. I ordered the make me cool, aqua coloured brush set, and was so stocked about getting them in my mail. But they never came, they got lost in the mail. The Sigma site says that they do not take responsibility for lost mail international, but I thought I’d just send them a mail to see if they could place my order, and help me figure out where it was. When they couldn’t do this, they sent me a new kit, FOR FREE! The costumer service is so amazing, and they were so kind to me and helped me out. I love them. I’m going to repurchase from them, and highly recommend them to everyone who wants a brush collection, but don’t want to spend all that much money, but still get good quality brushes. This kit goes for $99, and contains 12 brushes.

The packaging is just to die for. The pictures won’t be too great since this was done at night-time,  I just couldn’t wait to show you guys!

You get 12 brushes for the same price as a mac 187 goes for here in Norway, now that’s just insane. I love it. Check them out you guys!

– Do you own any brushes from Sigma?

– What colour would you get if you were going to pick a kit?

Ring of roses

I filmed another tutorial. I really like this method better then the picture slideshow, but I might do both in the forture. This is a pretty pinky-purple look, that was inspired by roses. I hope you guys like it.Even though I use mostly high end product, it does not mean that you have to run out and buy them if you don’t have them in your makeup collection already. Just use similar colours, and you’ll do just fine!

Beauty Joint

So here it is people, my second but deffinetly not last online makeup haul. I love shopping online, but this is turning in to quite an problem for me. I order more stuff then I can remember, haha, no good. Anyway, I always wanted to find a site that carried NYX, mostly the jumob eyeshadow pencils, and shipped worldwide. And I found it, or I found two. I placed my order with beautyjoint.com and my package came one week later, amazing! So here’s my shopping confessions.

The first items I got was of course my jumbo eyeshadow pencils. I LOVE THESE! Such an good cuality for such a good price, it’s awesome. Preveiously I only had the one in blackbean and milk, which there’s only a tiny tiny piece left of. So I had to order my backups of it, now I have 3. But I’m thinking of giving one away to a friend. not sure yet. I also got the one in cherry(red), strawberry milk(light pink), yellow, and Green Rocky Mountain(forest green) Buy them people, you won’t regret it!

If you read my blog frequently you prabobly already know that I’m a lipstick junkie.I love me some lipstick, bright, neutural, shimmery, matte, shiny, you name it, I love it, and in most cases, have it. So when I had the oppertunity to order more of the round lipsticks from NYX, I didn’t pass it up. I have’nt really played with them yet, but their time will come.

I’ve always heard so many good things about the NYX blushes, but I never got the chance to get one. Probobly had something to so with the fact that they don’t sell NYX in Norway, and I would have to go through all the trouble of finding someone to swap with. So when I placed my order, I put in some of these babies as well. The colours of them are(from left to right) Pinched, Spice and Peach. Now, I was pretty upset that I didn’t get to pick up the blush in Pink Cult from the mac collection that launched resently, but this one seems to work like a dupe! I love it already, haven’t tried the other ones, but this one, wow.

You gotta love cheap online shopping, and as it tourns out, they do sell NYX on place in my town, but they take $33 for ONE round lipstick. It’s so sick, I was like, HELL NO! I’ll just order it online, muhahahah. Coz I’m awesome like that. Check out the site peeepz.
